Hmmm, driverless cars flying down the road because most of the numbskulls would continue dangerous driving behavior and be at the wheel killed easier. Most accidents seem to be caused by stupid people not directly involved in the accident.

Why bother with the spike? How about if everyone just carries a gun in their car instead?

I like the gun idea, however i live in Canada where it is overly illegal to carry a handgun. However; Ive always wished that each vehicle had a super computer with GPS that real time measured everybody's driving (Speed, gas-consumption, lights, steering direction, brakes, etc...) and would "Big Brother" everybody's driving. I know its a far fetched idea for all of the reasons (cost, privacy, etc...), but many do not understand or are too ignorant to notice the effects they have on others in traffic. Many people who are too afraid to drive the speed limit or slamm on there brakes to annoy the tilgater behind them, or stop in the middle of a merge lane, etc... do not realize that they might be impeding trffic flow. whichever the cause, a computer of neccessary calibur with some sort of safe notification (Voice, Lights, Video, etc...) would help assist everyone and could explain why traffic is snarled or which lane is moving smothly or even the simplest of speeding up or slowing down, or SLAM ON THE BRAKES!lol. I also think of the idea of giving this live information to an authority of some sort where drivers could be automatically ticketed for severe wrong doing. However, I wouldnt be happy if i got ticketed by Big Brother, Im just too good of a driver, just kiddin, lol.
