Alternative name: "Interfaith-fest"

Theologins of various religious/philosophical traditions should gather together and make a big religious-themed event. Here they would discuss/debate issues of public concern, answer questions from the audience, and in general just try to explain their religion to everyone.

This may work best if it starts as an annual event in particular cities, and once it has gained some popularity, they could take it on the road like the traditional revival meetings in the USA.

This idea would work well in the convention format. Organizers could rent a large space, then apportion areas for each religion to set up a presentation. I especially like the idea of learning about religions that aren't one's own. ReligCon 2005! I'd go...

When I first read the title I said "OH NO here we go again". Anywhere I see the word Liberal I cringe!! But after reading the idea I like it. Only the truth can stand up to real scrutiny. My only concern would be that it truly be a forum for intellectual debate, and not a hate fest from non agreeing parties. Religious freedom means the right to disagree as well.

I checked out the link you posted and would love to debate those kind of issues. I disagree with alot of them and feel that I have solid reasoning to do so. I am not sure if this forum is a good place for it, but I would respond if you are so inclined. Maybe it should be in a differentin section. But I agree that this is some of the topics that should be discussed at such an event as is proposed in the idea.

This could be difficult to pull off well, but is worth it's salt anyways. Beware of the types that show up just to argue.

Considering the intensity of conviction of large numbers of each faith and the potential violence inherent in the emotional stake of many members in accepting absolutely some of the factors proclaimed in each religion and denied in others it would be extremely difficult or perhaps impossible to maintain peaceful rational discussions. But it would be an interesting experiment.

Terrific idea. The agenda should be that God is too large to fit into any one religion and...All religions that promote peace, love and compassion have EQUAL VALIDITY. I've been working toward this goal for some time now and would donate the book "Urantia United, Tapping Into The Mind Of God For Answers On Religious Equality" at cost. Please email me at kkawohl1@cox.net I'm in Newport Beach, CA & we could convene here.

You want to put all the religions side by side, so we can decide which one to believe ?

You can already check out all the latest religions on TV.

Open any history book and see whether there exists evidence that any religion has ever contributed anything to the character of mankind. You won't find it.
