I for one am sick of the irrelevent or "Buy this" commercial sites any search throws up. I want truly free information,links, software, (this excludes "crippled" and time limited Shareware), and other delights.

I would use a search engine that gives me ONLY Free and Open stuff, almost exclusively. I wouldn't mind it being financed by banner ads, it's the Hidden commercialism that wastes my time. The community of users could be used to weed out the commercial stuff that creeps thru', but the algoritms for Free stuff only would be the difficult part
