Universal SignalStrength Meter | |||||||||||||||||
"Can you hear me now?" I live in the woods. When I moved there, my existing mobile phone service didn't work. So, for every other mobile service vendor, I bought a phone, confirmed it didn't work at home, and brought it back. It took a week. I'd like a gadget that could simultaneiously show me the signal strength for all the national service providers: Verizon, Sprint, etc. That would tell me to purchase my mobile service from one of these vendors who have signal at my home, not that other bunch that doesn't work at my location. The more advanced version would attach to my notebook computer, which would record signal strength for each of the vendors as I drove (for example) my standard commute. That would permit me eliminate those vendors who had no-service regions on that route. It's a use-once gadget, no longer needed once the service is selected -- so it would be appropriate to rent the device. Maybe Sprint (etc) would offer to rent it to prospective customers -- the rental fee set aside if the customer goes with Sprint (etc). That makes it a marketing device.
