Try using an open money (mutual banking, community currency) system in a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.

Some of these games have extensive economic systems, and economic systems benefit from efficient currencies. Many of these games rely on an externally provided currency (such as gold) to facilitate exchange. A more effective system would be based on open money, where users acquire debits and credits as the result of exchange, rather than actually carrying gold. Software has been developed to run these systems, so there would only need to be a player who wanted to play the role of banker (checking credit of other players) and software so that players could use it as they play the game.

Open money software is being developed:Openmoney.org

There is also a game to simulate the system, and considerable theory on Mutual Banking .
