Create a meeting room "mode" for cell phones, to prevent the "ring tones" from interrupting a meeting, a class, or seminar.

The speaker's podium or control panel would have a "meeting mode" button. When pushed, all cell phones in the room would be converted to a silent or vibrate mode. This would prevent those annoying rings/jingles during meetings/classes, yet still allow calls to come through.

This would allow the phone owner to still receive what could be an urgent call, but prevent the disruption.
