Avoid projectile nail clippings as you clip your nails. Hole punchers and electric shavers have built in reservoirs. Why not have a collapsable daiphragm (think accordian) covering the open sides of the clipper to prevent the trimmings from shooting all over the place. At the end of you grooming session you can open the reservoir and empty the contents.

This is especially useful in societies which are concerned with constructing voodoo dolls whose magical powers depend upon incorporating a victim's nail parings in the doll. It is sure to decrease murder by incantation although a citizen's right to bear pins may remain unimpaired.
I've always loved this idea and I saw if for the first time in Munich, Germany and most recently at Sharper Image.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but they already have these at any big supermarket. I got mine at Rite-Aid
