Since it would be a niche item, not many would be made, and would therefore limit the variety of features it would have. IMO, just get a cheap projector (<1G), and a laptop that otherwise has the features you want.
What about a laptop without a screen, using only a bright projector? It could have a small projector screen integrated, and would save on the LCD, which can be expensive.
C2H60 - Nice idea, but if I was working out of the office, everyone could read my stuff.
Since most people using a laptop compatible projector do need a laptop, could a simple windows system not be built into the projector with basic programmes and a USB port or three?
Don't many of th eplaces you would need a projector, have the projector anyway?
Niche market. Maybe corporations that have dedicated audio/visual personnel would like it. The problem is that if one component fails beyond worth to repair, you lose two pieces of equipment.
