photocel controlled headlights | |||||||||||||||||
Why not have your car's lights turn on whenever a photocell on the outside of the car (somewhere) detects that the light level is below a certain value? Then if you happen to be driving into a tunnel, your lights would come on automatically and then turn off again when you emerge. This would also be useful when clouds suddenly darken the sky.

Dude, are you living in a tunnel? Doesn't every car have this feature? It is standard in every car I've bought in the last decade.
My cars have this feature too. Mine also turn the lights off when the cell detects enough light. The feature can be turned off if you want to manually control whether your lights are on.
The slide switch that controls it also controls the automatic blocking of lights in the rear view mirror.
