'Ollie North' Mailbox | |||||||||||||||||
Why not have a mailbox which can re-route junk mail placed in it to an 'Ollie North' machine which will shred it. Ok, some people own a canine shredder unit but this sometimes chews the good stuff as well. The resulting shredded material will then be re-routed to a compacter which will turn it into briquettes which you can store and burn to keep your house warm in winter.(Briquettes made from compacted newspaper will burm for around 2 hours)

How does the unit identify junk mail? This would require for hardware at least a scanner and an OCR system, plus a shredder and a compactor, plus whatever mechanicals are needed to make it work. Add to this software development and other costs and one of these machines could run $200 or more.
My advice: buy a shredder and do the sorting by hand.
