360 degree vision-camera | |||||||||||||||||
Now here's an idea: 360 degree goggles. it may seem like youd need a computer directly attached to the brain but its actually quite simple. Picture this: there's 2 cameras on a elastic band encircling around your head there is a screen in front of your eyes that all of the pictures vertically compressed into your visual range.

Although it might be an interesting experience, 360 degree vision would probably be extremely disorientating since our nervous systems have been evolved and trained to use the limited vision we have. It could be managed with one camera and a convex mirror to pick up the total view.
Or you could wear glasses with a miniature rearview mirror which are made for bicyclists...
I think it would work, but squeezing the image into your normal field of view would require shrinking everything down to a fraction of its normal size. Everything will look very small and far away.
A fish eye lense helmet may be another way to achieve near 360 degree vision, could be very useful for the likes of cyclists, soldiers and so on to be completely aware of your surroundings whilst your head is protected in a helmet...
However yes it would exceptionally dissorientating, you may be able to train it's use, but it may not be practical.
