PodBot: Limited Podcast Player | |||||||||||||||||
The PodBot is a small, easy to use, battery operated, limited fuction MP3 player designed to wirelessly receive and store a single podcasted audio file, and play the file upon the user's command. Each PodBot is individually adressable by the user, and therefore has a unique purpose. For example, the user may have three PodBots mounted on the bathroom mirror: one addressed for the local weather podcast, one to play real estate tips, and one to play the latest traffic report. By simply pushing down the top of the PodBot, the user will hear the Podcast stored on that PodBot (and only that Podcast). As new Podcasts become available to the user's home PC, software on the PC will push the file over a wireless network to the PodBot targeted to receive that file. Following the example, the weather PodBot would receive and store the most recent weather Podcast, and so forth. PodBots may be re-purposed, for example, the user may choose to change the PodBot receiving real esate tips to some other Podcast, say gardening tips. PodBots have a uniform shape and size, include a small speaker, and come in a variety of colors. They mount to any flat surface by suction cup, and include a reusable writing surface for easy identification.

If you have a connection from a music enabled player why not just stream it and avoid the memory storage aspect of it....either way this would be an expensive item due to the wireless connection even if the connection could wi-fi or bluetooth.
Its probably just easier to send the actual music to a speaker from the PC, and I think they already have products that do this, minus the part about them storing data.
