With the advancements in technology today, especially in biotechnology we are able to use recombinant DNA technology create healthier agricultural products, clone human organs and even produce tomatoes with the SARS vaccine. Why not genetically manipulate a bacteria or some organism that can eat away human fat? If we can create “clot buster” drugs used to unclog arteries to prevent heart attacks, we could possibly create a biotech weight-loss drug that directly eats away fats. Popular products like Xenical and Reductil either loosen bowel movement or prevent cravings, but they do not directly target the excess fats. With our ever-developing technology of today, so many things are possible, why not this?

This is a very good idea, personally as a chubby person I would not mind this at all. Believe me! But our body still needs a little bit of fat, maybe a miracle drug to destroy the more dangerous fats in our body would be better.

i agree with her.... based on my personal experiences with different products like xenical and reductil, yes you can see some good result like your loosing weight but the bad side of it is right now im discovering lots of harmful side effects

I like this idea. I used to be thin, but I now I gained weight already. I want to go back to my old body figure but I'm scared to take medicines like Reductil and Xenical and I'm sometimes lazy to exercise. If scientists are to invent a drug for weight loss, I just wish that they would do extensive research so that there will be no side effects. Side effects is the reason why I'm afraid to take in drugs to lose weight.
