Flying without wings | |||||||||||||||||
people, cars, airplanes or everything that you wantc to fly without using wings. my idea is an anti gravity gadget that enables you to control your use of gravity and fly as high or as low as you want. example of a benefit is an airplane reducing it's fuel consumption by not exerting effort to lift up into the sky and only needs a force to move forward.

And then theres that little mill that grinds out gold coins on request.
I am very much interested in the technology of how you plan to manipulate the Higgs field.
this would be fun. who needs cars when you can just fly away whenever you want! go to school, to the mall or where ever using this
very interesting concept...can it be real
Watch the old "Buck Rogers" serial movies from the 1930s, they used "antigravity belts" as we would use parachutes. No clue as to how they worked, of course. Maybe they used a "magnetic monopole?"
Actually, we are not far from harnessing that technology. I saw a documentary on it on the History Channel of all places. They were actually levatating a frog using high powered magnets of some sort. They were saying something about how you would first have to have a power source strong enough to effect gravity in a way to control it. Then you would have to have something on your vehicle to negate the force of the powersource that makes you hover so that it will not effect the passengers. I think this is because if you were able to control gravity and hover and travel at tremendous speeds you would need to figure out a way for the passengers not to be hurt once the vehicle stops. This is becauseobjects in motion tend to want to stay in motion. If I can find a weblink to the documentary I saw I will be sure to post it here for you. But rest assured that wingless flight is very possible. You could fly a brick if you had enough force and control of gravity.
It's not actually against the laws of physics. A shelf keeps objects above the ground without expending energy. You just need energy to raise objects up onto the shelf (good old Newton).
So as long as you are in level flight you don't (again according to the laws of physics) need to expend energy to stay up, just to move horizontally against the friction of the air. Which means all current aircraft, helicopter etc. are very bad designs as they expend lots of energy unnecessarily just to stay up.
Now all we have to do is invent something that will keep us up without expending energy. Over to you.
Insofar as Buck Rogers is concerned, a substance called neutronium, an invention of Dr. Huer, was used. It was a solid comprised of neutrons which the comic strip assumed was immune to the force of gravity and therefor would have the capability to fly off the earth as it spun around the sun. But gravity, according to Einstein, is the result of a distortion of space itself and unless this warping of space can be unwarped, anything with mass must conform to this distortion. Some current experiments have had a slight effect on gravity but nothing so far has been promising for practical use. The term "gravity control" supplied to Google will supply information on the subject but it's all theoretical so far.
Yes, this technology was already demonstrated in the film Back to the Future 2, with the hoverboard. It was fantastic.
The current theory on antigravity research involves propelling objects at a very high speed inside an extremely strong magnetic field. Turns out, odd things happen to the spacetime geodesic when you do stuff like produce a strong magnetic field, or move very quickly.
Just a note on the "levatating frog" thing. All materials exhibit a degree of diamagnetism (in ferromagnetic materials, this effect is completely overwhelmed by magnetic attraction). That is to say, all materials repel magnetic fields to a certain extent. Most are unnoticable, but some, like bismuth or pyrolytic graphite, will repel magnets without themselves having a coherent magnetic field.
Thus, if you put frog in the bore of a superconducting magnet of sufficient strength, it will "float." Of course, keeping superconductors cool is very difficult and requires tremendous amounts of energy. Then, charging the magnet requires even larger amounts of energy.
Quick refresher on general relativity: Einstein says matter tells time how to bend, and time tells matter how to move. Gravity and time are, according to general relativity, very closely linked. You can create gravitational vortices and other interesting nonsense, but it requires very massive objects such as planets, suns, or gravatational singularities (whether it's a true singularity, a dark star, or whatever else remains to be seen). We are probably not going to be seeing the stuff necessary to modify spacetime to hover on earth anytime soon. The first application (if it's ever reached) will be interplanetary or extrasolar spaceflight.
i thought about this so much for a long time that i actually researched a lot. I always felt that the day would come when men could fly using magnetism to manipulate gravity. You should research about the TR-3B that apparently the government is hiding for us. it's supposed to use mercury at high speeds and nuclear technology to control gravity, and to have been developed in area 51. People say they have seen a "triangular UFO" very close to them in very unpopulated areas which flew away at incredibly high speeds. i think the government would rather have people think they saw a "UFO" than have the world know that they have such technologies. you should also research mag-lev as in the mag lev trains and magneto hydrodynamics. i believe that if humans could develop the "TR-3B" technology (if it actually exists) in a small vest or something small we can wear to create around our body this same effect, then we could fly without wings, the problem is that imagine all the illegal immigration and the crime around the world, the government would never want this out there if it was developed, so if we want something like that, we need a genius outside the government working on this without their knowledge. There's actually one guy that crossed i think it was the atlantic wearing some type of rockets, and broke a new world record, so if we developed this "anti-gravity" technology all that would happen is that we would float, kind like in the moon, except that the gravity over there is strong enough to bring us back down, so if we blocked all gravity and we were in the air how would we impel ourselves? we would still some kind of rocket, wings, or somehow learn to use the same magnetism to do this, which to me sound kind of impossible...
i think there is a way i read of histories about spheres that had movement of liquid in it suddenly fly out.... and a college report i see that whit only gears they converted rotation into linear force and i still look for the thing in Internet but there not much for that i thinks that make it more interesting i dont believe that area 51 use magnetic to fly i believe they use this principle (that i havent say a word jajaja ) to fly without wings
Okay people, a dose of reality. Nobody really has any idea how to make an "antigravity" device of any kind. Levitating objects with magnets has nothing to do with gravity, as magnetic repulsion behaves the same way regardless of gravity. If you want to fly without wings and don't want to use energy to stay aloft, there is a technology that already does that. It's call helium. It is not "antigravity."
I don't want to be sarcastic, but... your idea is an anti gravity gadget? Not technology or anything like that, just some gadget that someone may build someday, because it would be soo nice? Than I have a fascinating idea too, time travel machine! Please, somebody build one for me ;)
What i mean, it's not an idea (or to be specific not YOUR)... you can see it in tons of movies (called sci-fi, the time machine thing also comes from there) - exactly what you wrote -cars, people etc. flying without wings.
Someone on here has been watching far too much scifi--what you see on the TV and movies is not real antigravity--NOT even David Blain's floating is real--
"No lift required" =a blimp
Sounds like a very elaborate (and possibly inhumane) way to cook a frog?
Maybe when you can figure out how to counteract the magnetic field of the Earth in a controled manner that could compensate for changes in the magnetic fields as you travel across them. Like to similar magnets will push away from each other. GOOD LUCK!
