wouldnt this be fun?! it would also be convenient for outgoing people to access the net in their cars. "aint no mountain high enough, aint no valley low enough, aint no river wide enough to keep me from getting to you!" =)

Seems to be already too many distractions to driving in the cars as it is.

Not only that, but don't some cell phones already have the capability to answer e-mail & surf the web?

Hyenuf, Feb 02 2006

actually there is one here already. i have a friend whose car has a wireless internet in it. he enjoys surfing the net so much that he manage to put wireless internet connection in his car. yes it is a distraction whenever you drive, but it's not the problem of technology. the problem there is the person, a person who is not responsible enough to concentrate in driving and be a cause of an accident. we just have to be responsible so that accidents will be avoided.

Someone with a wifi in his car documented views along a 1,306 km (812 mile) car trip. Here's the link.

For what purpose?

I can see it as being a great tool for travelling. Tie the GPS in with google maps and other search engines. Search for addresses of friends and families while on the road. Hungry? Do a search for the closest Hunan Cafe to your location. Could be good for music, too. Driving through the midwest but dislike country? Stream in your favourite somafm or shoutcast station.

Also useful for intervehicular communications. Travelling to BurningMan with a large group spread across three or four vhicles? You can all share in the same singalongs and stories. If someone in one vehicle takes a picture, it can be shown to everyone. Navigators in all vehicles can discuss the best route.

Great way to keep the kids occupied on cross country moves, too. They can update their blogs on the way, keep their myspace friends all posted. Check out their new home in Google Earth.

I agree to the idea.

I just hope alot of people don't abuse it.

I hope you are joking!!!!

That is just what we need to help with the population growth, the net in cars/trucks--Here you are driving down the road and in front of you some IDIOT is on the net while driving, running all over the road then a 18 wheeler from the other way--SPLAT--one less person on the net (faster net speed, one less person on planet and all the resorces he/she would use) I'm all for it maybe they can use a cell phone also while on the net and driving even faster SPLAT--less world population--YEA--Damn net user on the grill--will have to market "Easy Off-X-Net User" for the grills
