Have you ever tried taking off your ring while walking in a dark place and accidentally drop it? It is so hard to find a ring in the dark, believe me i have tried. Why not put a small nano bulb which blinks if it is lost? If it comes out of contact with the finger it blinks.

You will have to learn to be careful..that's an absolute answer to that!anyway, I would not scrap out your idea about the nano bulb thingy which is very possible. yah..why not..maybe not just for rings but anything as small as that which easily gets lost.^^
Apply this to pairs of glasses as well. Those are even harder to find in the dark.
