Direct Car Communication | |||||||||||||||||
Instead of removing car horns from cars due to the annoying drivers that over-beep and cause tempers to flare on the road... why not replace the car horn with a direct link car communication system using infrared communication technology (or bluetooth or whatever else)? Instead of pressing your steering wheel in order to make a noise so loud that anybody within a half mile radius of your car can hear your beeping, you can just select which car you want to "engage" in communication through a radar similar to those found in fighter jets (of course not THAT sophisticated)and press a button that automatically sends a warning sound DIRECTLY inside the car you're linked to. Good? Bad? Ugly?

good idea! but don't you think choosing the car within the radius is still hard to do??? anyway this is a good idea and may become reality in the future.
Make the selection device gun-like, with a dashboard holster. If you see another driver doing something dangerous, "shoot" them. You could even have a watchful passenger man the gun. This might be a good way to vent road rage as well.
Perhaps the radar can scan for vehicle-sized things approaching at an unsafe velocity relative to current speed. Unless you meant car-horn beeping, warning would be two-way, in case neither one noticed the threat.
