Easy Remote | |||||||||||||||||
Who not have a TV remote that is progammable so you can set the numbers the way you like them? For instance, the local station here is channel 13. On the cable the same channel is 5. On the satallite dish it is 815. I would like a remote that I could program so 13 = 815 so when I push 13 I get channel 13. Or if I have favorite channels like Discovery & ESPN I can number them 1 & 2 so I don't need to remember a bunch of 3 digit numbers to find the channels I want.

Remote control hotkeys! What would be even cooler... is blank buttons with tiny, backlit screens. You could assign each key a different channel, and not only have it change to that channel, but also display that channel's icon on the button. Put a few keys at the top of the remote to toggle between regular number pad mode and hotkey mode, too. While you're at it, you may as well make the remote rechargable, like a portable phone. And... going a step further, standardize rechargable device cradles so they work with all phones, remotes, razors, etc.
That would really be an STB issue, IMO.
Why do you always write about what planet did you come from is that the only thing you could say to oppose others opinions. If you pay the cable for different companies they obviously have different channels for tv programming station that is why there is a tv guide haven't you ever hear of this in your home planet where is it anyway? State ideas that have ergonomical features for people that haven't been substituted already, are you that stupid. Please ask yourself this,are you logical. I suggest that you should restart grade school. Another education expertise will recommend the same suggestion to improve your knowledge outside the box. At least graduate from grade 5.
There are universal remotes already that can do this, I think. But they require the user to program them, which can get tiresome and tricky. I recently read about a new universal remote that is programmed remotely, via your PC, by telling the vendor what your TV is, what your cable co. is, etc. This might have a lot of appeal. We'll see.
