My idea is that, on the dashboard of the car, alongside speedometer, etc, there can be a lcd screen which will give you a birds eye view of your car and the objects surrounding you. This will help you to manuevre your car better in places where there is a lot of traffic and you need lot of driving skills to steer your car through without collision. This could be acheived by raising a camera on the top of your car, 2 - 3 feet above the roof, which will transmit pictures to the lcd and dirver can figure out the layout of the car relative to the surroundings.

It would have to be retractable, otherwise when you went into a car park with a standard height 1m80 entrance - crunch.
Alternatively put proximity sensors front and back, which some expensive cars already have. Or a rear camera, which some expensive cars and lorries also already have.
