On long drives in a car with seatbelts on, it cuts into you...especially so for women. My solution is to loosen the belt only slightly and hold it in place with a normal clothes clip at the top....in case of a mishap it just slips and the belt works as it is supposed to.

Another possibility is to glue a strip of polyurethane foam (the flrxible foam used in mattresses) to the inside side of the belt to automatically space the belt about a centimeter or so away from the body. It would be non-slip, comfortable, and provide safety.
