In emergency situations plastic sheeting is used to form shelters for temporary shelters when it is strung between rigid pole structures. It might be useful to have a more rigid sheet material. This could be managed by using double sheeting with heat sealed pockets in the shape of tubes that would be shipped flat with capsules of chemicals embedded between the sheets along one edge. When the capsule is crushed it combines two chemicals such as bicarbonate and acetic acid to generate CO2 and inflate the tubing into more rigid structures. This system could also inflate pockets over the entire material to improve the insulating qualities of the material.
