I would love to have a way to easily date leftovers in the fridge (or freezer). If I don't eat something within the first day or two, I usually end up wasting it, since I forget when it went in. My mom keeps a list on the fridge door, but that hasn't worked for me. Any thoughts?

The most obvious organizing technque is to reserve three spaces in your storage facility so that as three days pass the first space becomes three days old and becomes eligible for discard then is emptied for new material and the age eligibility moves to the second space in rotation. You have to keep the rotation clear in some manner to make the system work.

funny, I read 'dating leftovers' and thought it was an idea for older singles.
