I don't know if it is in keeping with the spirit of the site, but I would enjoy hearing about everyone else's ideas regarding world domination and general villainery (sp?). It should be a top-level category, to keep such ideas separate from genuinely useful ideas. One man's garbage may be another man's genius.

Since the world seems to be dominated by a variety of thugs who justify their positions of power by all sorts of ideological and theological fantasies, the category should be very lively but contribute rather little towards innovation.

The hope here is that someone's megalomania might end up inspiring someone else's altruism, like how we turned laser rocket sharks into dolphins and penguins with underwater cameras.

Sand, don't forget all the UNtheological madmen who wanted to dominate the world in the past like atheist like Stalin, etc. They have killed more innocents in the quest for power and domination than fanatical religious leaders have.

nayhem, beautiful (the wise man can play the fool but the fool cant be a wise man)it's up to us to know the difference between a fantasy life and reality! thanx

TechnophilleTom, Sand said "ideological and theological." Stalin would be an example of the former.

I'm reminded of Nicola Tesla and his death ray. I guess there has always been a fine line between genius and insanity. Rich people are usually considered geniuses though, even if they aren't geniuses.

A good idea - at least from my perspective.

When I was a kid the "mad scientist" in his remote mountain-top laboratory always seemed like more of a career option than a deluded fantasy.

That said, whenever I do have a deranged idea, it would probably make me more of a neighborhood pest than a contender for World Domination.
