I have some clothes which somehow need mending, some need buttons stitched, some are slightly torn somewhere deep inside. Now I want to "mark" the clothes in some way that later, I can pick out the clothes that need mending whether it is button stitch, small embroidery work missing, etc. I can keep the clothes separate and distinct from other clothes but that many of the clothes are in usable condition so I may still wear them, but need some invisible fix. I thought of something like a small removable sticker (not post it note- it shreds when put in washing machine) that is washing machine resistant but I can also colour code it on how it needs mending...

There are various multicolor ribbons used in decorative gift packaging. A short snip of one color coded for a specific repair could be stapled to an unobtrusive spot on the garment for reference for future repair.

Thats a feasible idea, but I wouldnt want to staple something to my clothes because it leaves the staple holes in the clothes. I hope they make a Post-it type of sticker that sticks anywhere and be able to write or mark on it.

When you staple to cloth the prongs slip between the threads and leave no holes in woven material. When removing the staples the bent prongs must be straightened for easy removal and will leave no traces. In leather and plastic material you will leave small holes but if the staples are carefully placed where they are unobtrusive the small holes should be no trouble.

hey what about putting a cover over one of the buttons.. so it wont look too bad if u end up wearing it too.. and u can colour code it.. according to what you need to do with the particular garment.
