For those with long commutes, audio email allows users to have email read to them during long rides in the car. Commuters can reply verbally--the audio email will transcribe and reply in written email form to designees.

It is widely accepted, for drivers, that the sense of sight is more important than the sense of hearing (deaf people can possess a driver's license, blind people cannot). While noises are somewhat distracting to drivers, they are far less distracting than, say, reading an email on a PDA and typing a response while driving.
