You're travelling with your ipod, pda/phone, computer and maybe even a portable dvd player, and sometimes there is just nowhere to plug in. Wouldn't it be great to have a universal solar portable charger or trickle charger along for the ride?

Go further on every charge and go further...

This is a great idea. I wonder if this can be build in directly on the PDA/phone/ipod?

Sorry, it has been done. Just go to Fry's...

However, I would like to suggest a new twist - self charging battery. The shelf of a standard AA, AAA, etc. battery is an actual solar cell. Once the battery is discharged you leave it under the sun to recharge. I have seen this with some cell-phone batteries but never with standard size batteries.

Let’s go one step further – how about converting the device shell into a solar panel? Imagine a laptop that has a solar cell in its cover….
