Mobile Sun Block Booth | |||||||||||||||||
Right now I am on vacation so I know that applying sun lotion at the beach sucks! Most people will assume they are completely covered only to find red streaks going down their back at the end of the day. Few people know exactly how long the protection from the lotion will last or when to re-apply. Plus, folks like myself, hate when the lotion and the sand mix. I propose mobile sun block booths which are pulled by ATVs up and down the beach. The user pays a small fee, enters the booth and selects the level of sun block. They have the option of a plastic shower cap, going naked or leaving on their suit. The user will adjust a nozzle to chin level, to keep the spray out of the eyes, and hit the "GO" button. A pressurized atomizer spins around the body from chin level to your feet. At the conclusion of the session the user will merely dispose off the cap, rub some of the lotion on the face and leave the booth. Upon exiting, a provided receipt will inform the user of the sun block that was applied and when they should return for re-application. Total time in the booth: one or two minutes, suggested retail price per application $1.75 to $2.50

I like this idea and think that people would pay for it.
The product actually exists. I too "invented" this contraption only to discover that a South Carolina company brought a product like the one you describe to market in May. They have two models. The Solar Sunblocker sprays users with 15 or 30 waterproof sunblock; The Sun Treatment Center has those but also has a tan accelerator, and an aloe cooling mist. I was so taken with the idea I am now distributing the product in Southern California un der the name Sunscreen Mist. Check out the website in the middle of october 2006. www.sunscreenmist.com. It is pretty amazing. The sunscreen formulations are tears free so you don't have to wear goggles and little kids can go through no problem. They don't stain clothes or mess up your hair. The booth even takes credit/debit, coupons or cash. Look for it next time you are at a resort pool. If anyone has other ideas please post.
It's a pretty good idea I like it! Another idea I had was to have shower applied sunblock at home in your own shower. The bottle would hang between the spicket outlet and the shower head itself. Using the perryjet motion the sunblock is drawn up and disbursed in the water and onto your body. This would be similar to the little fertilizing canister you hook up to the end of your hose. I just need to find a company that makes sun block that can be applied in a spray of water. Of course the sunblock would be applied at the end of your shower and then you drip dry for a minute or two to allow sunblock to be obsorbed by the skin the you would just blot yourself dry with a towel.
