This would be a device that is attached to your key chain and would call a cab automatically when pressed. It would transmit GPS info to the cab company for the location of pickup.

Yes. You could even use it as an emergency device that signals your position.
This would be very useful. This was attempted in 2003 in London by ZingoTaxi. Not sure what happened, but seems worth pursuing. And now with new cell phones coming out with built in Navigation systems it should get easier to roll out.
Or you could just use your mobile phone?
Add a second button to call the cops.And a third button to call for Phillip Morris.
