It would be nice to have a fan or vent in a bathroom that turns on and off depending on moisture so when taking a shower or bath the fan automatically starts and stops. It would be independent of the light and would likely be more energy efficient because it would only run when needed.

Humidistats have been around for years. Just google "humidistat fan" and you will find tonnes of them.

BTW properly set they run a lot longer than one would do it with the switch. Most people shut off their fan way too soon.
