Micro Freeze | |||||||||||||||||
The Micro Freeze is a device that will chill or instantly freeze any substance. The Micro Freeze works in the opposite way that a microwave works. Instead of increasing the speed at which the molecules move to heat up on object, the Micro Freeze makes molecules move slower, thus chilling or freezing the food item. The Micro Freeze is useful for freezing ice (instead of waiting hours for the ice maker in your freezer), chilling or freezing ice c ream,chilling hors d'oeurves, etc. Storyline:You're in the freezer aisle of your supermarket. You're browsing...and then you see it--your favorite ice cream...Hageen-Daz or Ben and Jerry's...you're ecstatic! You reach into the chilly freezer, pushing aside pints of ice cream, searching for the chocolate or vanilla or cherry garcia. You spot it--the last one in the back, staring at you, begging you to reach in and take it home with you. Pulling it forward, you admire your favorite ice cream. Then it hits you, "I have to pick up Billy from school in 10 minutes." Sucks, huh? You would've really liked to eat that delicious ice cream. You're about to put it back when you remember that wonderful machine you just bought. Your hero for the day, the Micro Freeze. You look at your watch, oops time to check out and get to Billy's school. 20 minutes later...You and your favorite ice cream are on the couch, spoon in hand,oooohhh thank goodness for that wonderful Micro Freeze.

I am in favor of fairy godmothers who grant three wishes, kisses that turn frogs into princes and devices that magically slow down molecular movement to create cold. Unfortunately, aside from exotic laser applications used in exploratory physics at temperatures close to absolute zero, there is no physical process that supports any of the three initial capabilities.
Air conditioning and Refrigeration technologies are available for this purpose. A small cooler can prevent the heat loss or the heat gain for some time, providing the desired outcome at very small cost.
For something a bit simpler, a small block of CO2 ice does the job nicely.
The microwave ovens are much more efficient than the convectional ovens. Similarly such cooling device would be much more efficient than the traditional freezer. I see a great potential but how are you going to achieve that?
Commercial Flash Freezing equipment is available in the market.I am not sure about the non-commercial equipment for suitable for small families..
The term micro freeze was one I dreamed up over 10 years ago. I have spoken to lots of other people for several years about the concept and the name. It is nice smart minds think alike. To bad I didn't register it back then.
The only way I can think about slowing the molecules down is using one of two ideas. The other thing you need to take into account is puting the liquid in a material with a shape that will allow the heat to leave at a fast rate. When you freeze something fast, you are going to release a lot a heat very fast.
Obviously the technology is worth billions, not just for ice cream, which is why I haven't forgot about it.
You need to know the physics of cooling to know it won't work.
Cold isn't created like heat is. Cold is essentially a lack of heat energy, and cooling is simply the process of moving that heat energy away from what is to be cooled. Current refrigeration technologies do that by accelerating the flow of heat.
