Ever been playing a round of golf and left a club behind at a past hole? Never let this happen to you again by using the 'Never Lost Golf Club Alert.'

First, you would stick a small, battery powered transmitter (about the size of a dime) onto the top of each golf club's grip. Next, you would have a small, battery powered transceiver that you could put in your pocket, clip to your belt, or attach to your golf bag. This device could be set to vibrate or play an audible alert (or both) if there is more than fifty yards between you and any of your clubs. You would be alerted if you had left a club behind.

This device could also be designed to function as a stroke counter.

The technology is available and easy to implement. If it can be done at a reasonable price customers would buy it. I am not a golf expert. Would such a device alter the balance of the club?

louyc, Aug 01 2006

Great..this could be enhanced to tag any object (piece of Luggage, Umbrella,Laptop computers, Cameras and "Significant Others")..

sramakuri, Aug 01 2006

The technology is here. I have seen keychains applications of this idea. Even though I am not a golfer I like it. In fact, if it is in a form of an universal device (like a sticker for example) it would be even more attractive.

Golfers love s#!t like this. Should be easy to make and easy to sell.

Great idea!

I rarely find the time for a round of golf, but can tell you I have lost a few clubs myself over the past few years as well as seen a few of my buddies do the same. At least my clubs are cheap. ;)

I’m sure something like this would do very well…in fact…I’d be surprised if something like this didn’t already exist. Ok…after just a quick google search I found a few references to golf club alarms and theft prevention, but not quite the solution you are suggesting…which I like a lot more. I haven’t done an extensive search, but here is one of the sites I found: http://www.clubsavr.com/

Again, I love this idea, and if anything else, I think it’s a better mousetrap.

Neat idea ! ! !

I have just reviewed the various creative ideas and comments associated with the escalating problem of golf club theft. I would like to share a product that substantially solves this problem. It’s called the “Gator Jaws Club Guard” and can be seen at www.rgoent.com . It’s very unique inexpensive and effective! It prevents your clubs from being taken out of any type bag and secures the bag to any fixed structure (Cart, Rack, to the vehicle, etc…) Check it out !!!

I own the patent for using radio frequency and the trademark - "ClubScout" for this concept.

I randomly came across this website while doing a product planning project for school. Our assignement is to develope an new product along with a plan to bring the product to market. The product I am using is my fathers idea the "ClubScout". I'm not sure who Chris Wall is but all I have to say is lets get this product to market ASAP.I thought we owned the patent but again I am not really that invovled with the whole thing. I am glad to see this is an liked idea. My prof. did not think this was a good idea until a student raised his hand and admitted to losing a golf club at least three times before.
