microwavable cake | |||||||||||||||||
The idea is to create a cake that you can microwave entirely, without having to add frosting. Unfortunately this is difficult because frosting is not meant to be heated. I am yet to discover a good way to incorporate both the cake itself, and the frosting. It is also important that the cake tastes freshly baked. rate this.

I think this is an awesome idea. I love cake -- and I would really love to be able to make one in about 10 minutes instead of 35 mintues. You should send the idea to Betty Crocker and see what she thinks.
make love to me
There are several types of frosting. Some, like fudge frosting must be made like candy and require boiling and careful timing. Some made with confectioner's sugar can be made cold and applied.A cake made in a microwave will have no crust. I have tried it so I know. Waiting an extra 40 minutes for a cake to be baked in an oven really does not try my patience all that much but if you are really that hungry and impatient you might as well buy one already made.
Good idea. I know that they already have microwavable brownies. The mix comes in a microwavable container and you just add water. Takes about 5 minutes or less. Works great for me! Brownies taste fresh baked. I hope you find a frosting that works for you! Good luck!
Betty Crocker already has microwavable cake. Its sold in small portions in grocery stores and walmarts in the USA
