Quick Locks | |||||||||||||||||
I think that houses should have locks like cars. People should be able to press one button from outside or inside the house using a small remote just like you can do with cars. A button on the remote should be "open" it will open the closest door to you. It would sorta be like a portable handicapp button that only works on your home. The close button should obvisously close the door.

Home automation is fascinating. I think the bluetooth quasi-clothing/jewelry artifacts is a good way to open/close doors and switch on/off lights based on your proximity. Maybe the exterior doors would have a special setting. I can think of times you get near a door and you don't want it to open. Hmm...
I was thinking about a similar remote system for bicycles.
You could have the brakes engaged until the system is disengaged by remote. Then you can quickly mount the bike and travel where ever you want.
My prius opens the car with the smart key system that simply recognizes the presence of the key with me.
