The Auto-Swing | |||||||||||||||||
This one comes from my wife. :) Nothing is better than pushing your kids on the swing at the park…at least for the first 5-10 minutes. Add-in additional children who also want to be pushed at the same time or need help on the slide, and you can quickly find yourself outmatched. Whether by a manual crank on the side of the swing or perhaps even an electric option for those fancy parks, having an automated swing function would certainly add to the pleasure of taking your kids to the park. Additionally, this type of automation could help regulate the lines for the swing by controlling the amount of swing time for each rider.

Although this might appeal to some kids the fun with swings (at least when I was a kid) was the presence of somebody pushing. And for swinging alone, it was the timing and exercise of pushing the swing to go higher that was the fun. Having an automatic pusher (at least to me) leaves something important out.
I think this idea isnt half bad. The kids could swing higher than they could before and the parents wouldnt have to try as hard.
Liability of this product is something to consider at public parks but a home version could work. Easy enough to build. I say give it a shot.
