I dont always water my lawn or plants so naturally they dont look very good. I think part of this is because i dont want to run up my water bill. I think it would be a good solution to put a dehumidifyer outside and connect it to the sprinkler. The water collected from it will be used to water the lawn or plants and this would be done automatically by pushing a button. I think this is a good idea because you would just be using the water in the air not your own and how ever much water is collected in one day will be how much is given to the plants. This would save time money and water. This way every day my plants get at least a little of water and my bill isnt that big.

Your Water bill might not go up but you Electric Bill will. Now if you have a way to add pipe to you A/C drain, the one comming from you inside unit then you could use this water.

I agree, the trade off of electricity for water would be huge but... if you added some nutrients into your dehumidifier that could also give water and nutrients people might buy it.

Or you could plant cactus.

Or you could drive a point and use groundwater for your plants. Many people here have gone to that solution to avoid incurring the wrath of the inspectors during watering bans. Many of our schools have thier own wells for lawn watering on the sports fields. The water isn't demineralized so sometimes it leaves stains, but it's cheaper than tapwater.

Not a practical solution in areas where the groundwater is too deep, I know, but you can pump a lot more than you could condense.

Unless you have a gargantuan dehumidifier your grass isn't going to get much water.

Dig a ditch beside the roots of the plant and take a plastic can or bottle, fill it with water, make a hole in the cork and burry it up side down. Water will last much longer than normal.

Rest of the things are as per your choice like the size of the container will depend on the number of days you choose to relax and most importantly, your water bill? In this case you can stroll around the city find sources in the town like a river or community place where you can get fri water. Just make a few up and down trips and collect the water. This will not only keep you fit but save you money on your water bill also.

Try it and let me know, how it worked?
