I think that it would be a good idea to have about 3 to 5 "favorite" buttons on a TV remote. These would work like the buttons on a car radio. Each different button would host a different channel or station. You would be able to choose what channel goes to what button. That way you wouldnt have to memorize all your favorite channels and you could get to them easily. You would have to worry about pressing wrong numbers or your fingers slipping off the buttons and hitting other buttons. What do you think?

TV remotes have too many buttons already. This is good, but it adds to the clutter. What about a flip-top, covering all the excess function buttons, with five or six favorite channel buttons on it. It cleans up the remote and doesn't add to the complexity.
My TV allows me to re-order the channels. I just set up my favourites to be 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. Channels in the range 30-65 I never bother to even zap through, that's where the Portuguese, Greek, Serbian, Turkish, Albanian etc. channels are.
Some universals have them. One I still have has about 4 favorite keys you could each program for one or more favorite channels.
