Co-op for inventors | |||||||||||||||||
Exchanging idea's is all well and good but successfully fielding a product can be expensive/time consuming/risky. Licensing is nice but not that easy to accomplish in many industries. In order for people to decide if there is something worth working on it must be examined in detail. If it is a significent technology then this is best done under a Non-Disclosure Agreement. To accomplish this a new log-on capability could be added to the site that would include a general, open, reciprocal NDA agreement to be signed by all parties given access. Also, it is probably preferred that the disclosing party can choose who is qualified for a given level of access to their I.P.. I could contribuite an appropriate agreement if their is sufficent user interest. Dr. Nalebuff has indicated he will encourage/support those innovations that draw high levels of interest.

I think further development is to have a method for "industry" looking for ideas to be able to "Purchase" them. With the format as it is, perhaps it would simply be for the person to state their interest. It would be nice if this site managed the interest, ultimately "selling" the idea. Working directly with the "inventer".
Why even wait around for industry to buy an idea? We could possibly use this site to raise capital amongst the site vistiors and push new ideas through that receive high ratings and broad user interest. Coordination may be an issue...... The NDA concept is great, the site could also be used to submit a US Patent disclosure document that would give the submitter two years to develop the concept and it is not as costly as a formal patent. The patent would come after the disclosure document if the idea proven out.
