Double phone line to single in | |||||||||||||||||
I have two phones with BSNL and one phone with BHARTEL something. In India-TamilNadu. There are two physical phone connections coming in to the house and I use two separate phone instruments to connect the lines. I keep one phone in the bedroom and one phone in the hall. Both have cordless and the cordless usually lies somewhere in the house. Now my question is shouldnt it be possible to use one phone with two incoming lines, using a mux or other instrument? I may get more phone lines and I dont want to keep buying new phones I will use one phone instrument but use several different cordless receivers and each phone can receive any incoming call on any number and that number will appear before picking up the call in that cordless. Each cordless phone should also work as intercom to connect people living in different rooms to talk with each other in WLL or local radio waves (shortwave).

Phones that accept more than one line have been a standard business item for years. I have one in my kitchen. You do, however, need to select the line that's calling by pushing a button on the phone. If you select both buttons you get conference call mode.
Provided both lines coform to the same technical standard, or can have a board or box to connect to a home PBX, sure.
