Sometimes I use my cordless phones in tub. It gets oily and wet and sometimes it falls in the water. Why not make the cordless phones waterproof?

Same way, why not make the mobile phones waterproof also, so people diving, skiing etc will still be able to use the mobile phone underwater?

Theoretically you could put your phone in a sealed plastic bag before dunking yourself but I have serious doubts about signal transmission while totally underwater. It might be possible to design a phone that utilizes high frequency sound for transmission between divers but conversation might be a bit troublesome with all that breathing apparatus in your mouth.

Numerous cordless phones come in a waterproof version touted for use by the pool. I am not sure if cell phones offer this feature or not. If you want a cordless model you might check out Brookstone.com.
