*Paintball O.S.T.C. style (sorry force of habit on othe sits) The game of Paintball needs more weapons than just guns... it needs the fun of arrows, knifes, swords, ect. as well! All the melee weapons will fit in one of Four types: Braker, slash, stab'n stick, or stream slash. Breaker: a weapon that brakes and paint inside goes on the vic. Slash: the basic foam or other materal weapon ment for slashing Stab'n stick: the weapon brakes to a certan point and the some how sticks to the vic. Stream slash/stab: A weapon usealy a sword with no blade but has a swich in the handel that when pressed will shoot paint. Ranged weapons like bows, crossbows, ect... will only have one kind of ammo the break and stick. The arrows, bolts, ect... will break to a certan point and stick so it will decreas the chance of ingery. And there will be armor as well. and then we will have the big guns: tanks, cannons, catipults, specal weapons(think of them),ect... * Old School Tech Combo (O.S.T.C.)

And then there's the atomic bomb which is an exploding 20 gallon can of paint.
That actually sounds kinda fun, even though I'm currently not a paintballer.
For refrence, I used to be on a sponsored paintball team. Didn't go anywhere, but I've got a lot more paintball experience than most.
What you describe is currently closest to scenereo paintball. Very few people are into it, comparatively speaking to either woods games or speedball.
The problem with things that are not guns in paintball:
A decent gun can crank out 10+ balls per second, and that's in semi-auto. I could crank out 12-13 with my old gun, which wasn't electro. The guys who have a decent electro can put down 15 and up, all on semi automatic. How are you going to get close to that with a sword? Most speedball is played at distances that get down to seven feet and under. The closer you get to someone, the more danger you are in of them owning you completely.
You can't have ref's constantly checking for the number of hits on a player. It's not practical - they have enough trouble with just one. And there are enough players who are dishonest that you can't rely on the people playing.
I think you are confusing paintball for some bizzare mix between laser tag and medieval reinactment.
Paintball gear is expensive, paint is expensive, and it's all very talored to the current model of play. I suggest you pick a non-paintball gun method for doing this, or you are going to have some serious issues attaining any sort of balance.
Paindball is Paint Ball, not Paint war. Leave it at that.
Right Then on the thought of "Paint Wars" get a old tank and refit it for paintball ammo. Nuthin like being shot with a tank cannon to end ones misery.
What name would give this new Paint sport then toastydeath?
Terrible idea, when things start getting even more physical in an already painful sport, things can get bad, even among friends.
