SMS ur computer | |||||||||||||||||
Does anybody think if we put a SIM card on a computer then it becomes addressable by a mobile phone also , like SMS your computer send me this file by email and it will authenticate that the request came from your mobile then it will email it to you... You have some file in your home laptop its connected to the internet but you dont have time to send the file to another person or you forgot the file.. you take your mobile and SMS "AUTHENTICATE 876 565 4532; SEND c:\Topsecret.txt TO rutger@philadelphia.edu" from your mobile then it emails the file to the email?

Sounds useful to me.
I think many phones which can connect to computers can be used as modems. As for the computer itself becoming a device comparable to a mobile phone, it sounds like an idea that may have come too late, with WiFi beginning to find its way into widespread use.
They have cards for laptops and PC's that allow your computer to connect to the cell network for internet use, or whatever else.
Already been done without the need for SMS. See iForgot
