Becoming an eBay seller is rather tedious due to several security checks (which I do appreciate) and the logistics involved before and after selling something. Wanting to dispose of a lot of things I still possess (which are pretty much still usable) I always wanted to place ads in eBay for these things. A registered eBay seller closest to me could fetch these things from me for free and sell them at his own expense and logistics. I obviously do not get anything for these things except that I get "rid" of them at little expenses to me.

There are several local/regional businesses which specialize in selling items on eBay for others. They'll list the item using their account, with an attractive layout in many cases. None of them are free—everyone wants a cut of the action. You should get a majority of the profits, or pay a small percentage of the final bid, which is a lot better than just giving away the item.
why not...
Ah, the Internet Trash Can! I have often wished that everything I put in the waste bin could be recognized, posted to some website automatically and if anyone wanted the item- well I am sure you can figure out the rest of the story. Seems straight forward enough to build. Heck, you could probably make some money off the advertising the site could offer.
This would be like a freebay for the middlemen, the specialists in these items who might be the best people to handle the sale too.
I think anything that encourages recycling (rather than items being wasted on a dump) is a great idea. One problem I can see though -- if you are happy to give these away for free, how many other people doing that would actually be giving away sellable stuff for free? After getting a couple bad batches of rubbish, would the middlemen/ebay experts stop using this site?
