I dont understand why mobile phones need to be connected with "Connect headset..." before playing radio.. After connecting the headset you can choose to play the music in the built in radio loudspeaker without needing a headphone... So it must be possible to tune to a station and play the music without needing to connect a headset just by maintaining the volume on the internal phone speaker itself. I think it must also have a built in voice recorder / call recorder where the voices/sounds heared by the phone can be recorded and transferred through a USB port to a computer file!

They could also put WORLDSPACE FM RADIOS beamed directly through to the mobile phone. You will not be constrained by local FM radios falling within that particular geographical area... You could just purchase a Worldspace receiver as part of your SIM card then hear world radios tuned to your liking...
It would also be interesting if they could show TV shows in the phone screen itself so you can watch TVs on your mobile phone itself... They just need to make the screen a little bigger ...
The phone companies will make a lot more money if you purchase the song instead of storing what you like off a radio station that phone company provided you for free. This just doesn't make good business sense for the phone provider. They have TV phones over in S. Korea and they are pretty good. The phones we have in the States now were the models they were using 4 years ago. So, there is some hope that you will see what you want at some point in the near future.
The speakers in them aren't very good, really.
FWIW, my phone (Motorola V551) lets me listen to MP3s from its internal speaker.
Hi Marun,I think that the headset acts as the antenna to have better reception of the FM. I know that nowadays cell phones don't have antenna, but the frequency is different and FM radio still needs antenna for a better quality signal.
included now in many cells and will make it's belated debut on the iphone this summer (09)
