Manual Car Decals | |||||||||||||||||
It is very common for SUVs to come with decals on the back saying "4WD" or advertising other features. What would be much more useful would be adding similar emblems saying that a car operates by stick shift. Then maybe people wouldn't pull all the way up to that car's back bumper at a stop light, which is annoying for manual vehicle operators who often drift slightly backwards when they start moving.

or we can try to find a way to eliminate all the idiot people that feel like they have to "snuggle" the car in front of them!
You are assuming that people stupid enough to pull up so close to the car in front of them will be smart enough to figure out what the decal means!?!?! I have my doubts.
Just print bumperstickers that say, "Back off my bumper, #*$#@!
Instead of a decal which "would" require people to actually read it, why not incorporate a system in all vehicles with manual transmissions that would eliminate the rollback problem while in a forward gear. This would also apply when in reverse keeping the vehicle from rolling forward. Michael
actually subaru has what they call hill assist, so long as you keep the clutch in the brakes remain locked and the car will not roll back (although it will roll forward) they've been doing this since roughly 2000 model year. As for decals, how many drivers actually read the lettering on the back of other cars? really people just need to learn how to drive.
Thanks bel970 for the info, I didn't know Subaru or any car manufacture for that matter had that technology.
