Better Search Engine Links | |||||||||||||||||
When searching the web, you are apt to get a lengthy list of results which you have to read one by one if you want to find the most promising. It would be trivial for a search engine to display the links in different colors corresponding to the domain names. For example, pages from dot-coms would still be in black, but dot-org would be in green, dot-gov in blue, and so on. The result would if anything make the search engine's looks slicker, and add no clutter. Nevertheless, such a tiny change would make it possible to locate non-dot-com sites in an instant, if (as is frequently the case) such sites are more likely than dot-com sites to contain the type of information you are looking for.
