An Extended Amber Alert. I've put this up for revoting, because my initial idea was not very much in depth...

If you aren't aware of what an Amber Alert is, it is an alert that is broadcast on the local Television or radio stations when there is a missing child, until the missing person is found.

How about an "Amber Alert" geared toward the elderly, especially those with dementia. Alright, so for more detail...An Alert would be started the same way an amber alert would be. Once cops are notified of such missing persons, all the media would be notified and would broadcast the alert of the missing person and their description until the search is over (i.e; a picture, clothing the elderly person is wearing, etc...). The only thing different from an Amber Alert would be the age of the missing person, probably 65 and above, and as said, especially those with dementia and/or Alzheimer's.

The concept seems OK to me but why limit it by age? There are many individuals who might profit by an alert depending upon their capability to care for themselves and their dependence upon prompt and regular medication or other supervisory care.
