As a player of sports I have often wished for a pair of eyes in the back of my head to see that sneaky defender, to get a better view of the ball, or jump in the right direction at just the right second. As a viewer of sports I have often wanted to move the idiot on the field just a few feet to his left to close up the giant hole in the zone.
How about a jersey/uniform with small electrodes in specific locations, like front/back/right/left, linked to a radio control joy stick. The coach or observer could stand on the sideline and be that extra pair of eyes, guiding his player to the left or right with very mild shocks or pressure. Of course, the athlete would be under no obligation to actually pay attention to these suggestions, but it could potentially make the athlete a super-athlete, responding to threats from all sides with seemingly amazing reflexes.

This is interesting, maybe something that vibrates instead. Or a small speaker built into the helmet so the coach can actually be specific. This might be something to post on a website dedicated to modernizing modern sports to be more spectator oriented.Baseball Workgroup
Vibration is better than shock, true. Not all sports use helmets, though, and speech is slow, anyway. You want a direct, physical hand-eye response.
