Buyers pay reverse auction fee | |||||||||||||||||
What do you think of buyers having to pay the online auction fees on a reverse auction?I think it is quite fair, as the buyer posts a wanted ad and wait for the sellers to bid on his item. That's what I have discovered on http://www.oltiby.com and I think that they are the first one to reverse the eBay model. If the buyer can setup the maximum price he is ready to pay (it needs to be realistic, you cannot buy everyhting for $1 ;-)), then he will get savings. And if the competition between sellers is tough and the price is really going down, then the seller will have less profit, more business stolen from his competitors but less margin. That's why the buyer should pay the fees. Don't you think? And in this capitalistic world, sellers are looking for more business and buyers, who spend the money, are always trying to negociate...

As much as I don't like paying any fees (whether I'm a buyer or a seller), it is more appealing to the sellers, because they have more room for better offer and better discounts especially if they are competing against larger number of suppliers. Reverse online auctions ROCK!
There already is a free reverse auction site (the opposite of ebay) It is available at <a href="http://www.whyabe.com>WhyAbe.com
I don't see why either the buyer or supplier would want to pay any fees at all.
WhyAbe.com Free Reverse Auctions
It is very simple. Someone needs to maintain the website, resolve disputes, verify the users, protect fair users against fraud and spam and many other things. So, large group of people is required to run a place like that. If volunteers are working just part time, one cannot get the full satisfaction from it usage. I still think http://www.oltiby.com us currently a better option.
