There are many times I wake up on a flight and don't know what state or country I am flying over. Why not have GPS on the flight that you can punch up and see what state or city you are flying over. You could use it as quick information or follow along the whole flight. Also for the people who are picking the person up from the airport, they can input a flight number on a cellphone or computer and see where that airplane is and how long till it lands.

Not a new idea. They already do this on some flights.
Most Airbus planes have this already on the in-flight video screens. a moving dot tracks over a map showing where you are, plus current altitude and groundspeed data.
As for arrivals, most airports have a live arrivals board with estimated landing times on the internet, e.g. Luton.
