I think in the modern democratic systems there is a fault.Well, its supposted to be perfect, but the fault comes whenthere is not existing a real comunitation between thepolitical parties and the people of the comunity.I propose a city council wich is totally open to the eyesof everyone, I mean, all the decisions, the taxes, andthe way they are used, well described on web sites, somekind of wiki, as the wikipedia. The members of the comunitycan plenly access to the web, and loggin. In the case theylive in the town of this city council, the can discuss, about the way things are done, vote to follow some politics,or to neglect others, or porpouse different ways to dothe things. The very interesting idea is that all membersof the comunity, checked by the city council in the census, and if everything is right, the person can have a word, can be listened by others members, and make a difference, instead of laying the responsability of deciding how to dothings to political parties who -much more cases than we wish- only cares about their own interests, far away of theones of the comunity.

I'd like to use high fructose corn syrup as a means to explain democracy. HFCS is mostly composed of sucrose, but it contains small amounts of fructose. This substance is refered to as "high fructose", because it contains more fructose than pure sucrose does. Now, consider the term "more perfect", used in the preamble of the US constitution. This, like "high fructose", is a comparative term. Democracy is "more perfect" than a lot of forms of government, but it is closer to tyrannical rule than to perfection... just to put things in perspective.
Excuse me from wandering off-topic, but I was disturbed by your comment about democracy as being "supposed to be perfect".
Your idea addresses an issue that is getting worse as the human population increases. There are just too many of us to all physically participate in public discussion. Imagine a "town hall" meeting in New York City at which every New Yorker shows up. Eight million people can't agree on much of anything when they're all shouting over each other. Having these sorts of public discussions online will at least give us time to rest as we read through what people have to say.
When I said "supposed to be perfect", I mean, that is not. Its supposted to be perfect, but is highly demostrated that a political party is elected or not depending on the media press.
